NETIM is an ICANN accredited French registrar - member of the RIPE - created in 2004 by Bruno Vincent. The company is now based in Lille.[1]

Evolution

The year of its creation NETIM obtained accreditation in Belgium, France, and Switzerland. This first step allowed the company to fully manage domain name registrations in French-speaking countries.

In 2006, the company started its accreditation process across Europe and became accredited in all European countries. Three years later, NETIM launched its reseller program in order to allow major Internet industry players to register and manage their domain portfolio with a high-quality service. The same year, NETIM became ICANN-accredited allowing the company to be recognized as an official domain name registrar.

In 2012 the society created a subsidiary Business FranceDNS, a registrar dedicated to French-speaking countries’ extensions. This company is mainly popular in Africa thanks to its involvement in local activities aiming to develop the internet and the extension .AFRICA[2] across the continent.

In 2014 with the launch of new gTLDs, NETIM presented a new optimized website displaying its largest offers with over 1,000 extensions available for registration.

In 2018, Netim became the first registar in the Ivory Coast[3] and the third .eu registrar in France.

Launched on January 1, 2021, the new logo features a light, round font in opposition to the old, more imposing one. On the right, a wavy shape in orange tones strangely reminds us of the letter and “n” and/or “w”.

What better way to evoke our industry, online, than with a w? Moreover, every web address begins with the well-known “www” World Wide Web.

There is also a “.” embedded in the orange form. This dot is one more allusion to our sector of activity: the "dot" preceding every extension.

Our goal was to bring graphic modernity to our identity without losing touch with our origins.

Products

Domain Names: NETIM provides extensions from all over the world ranging from ccTLDs and gTLDs to IDNs (internationalized domain names)[5]

Web hosting: The web hosting packages depend on customer needs, and NETIM uses the PLESK interface for easier daily administration of web hosting.

SSL certificates: NETIM provides three kind of certificates: Single domain, multi-domains, and Wildcard, with basic to advanced features and allowing for domain validation (DV) and company validation (EV).

Reseller program: The reseller offer has proved popular because of its API-allowing automated services. The company developed its own WHMCS module[6] to improve customer management, billing, and support for resellers.

Market Positioning

NETIM’s strategy is based on a transparency policy as the company aims to avoid hidden costs and introductory prices. The company seeks to preserve customer liberty and thus emphasizes that each product can be ordered independently from the others. This model allows customers to have domain names with other registrars while having a messaging solution with NETIM. NETIM prides itself on quality of service as a worldwide provider with a large network of accreditations.
