Nurani Nimpuno works for Outreach and Communications, Netnod / Autonomica.

Netnod / Autonomica operate Internet Exchange Points (IXPs) in Sweden. Autonomica is also the operator of one of the 13 logical DNS root name servers in the world, i.root-servers.net (I-root) and a provider of DNS services, such as TLD anycast and unicast slave service.

Presence in Internet Community

Nurani has been actively involved in the Internet community for over a decade, working in Europe as well as the Asia Pacific and frequently presenting at and participating in international conferences globally.[1]

Nurani is also a member of the UN Internet Governance Forum (IGF) Multistakeholder Advisory Group (MAG). She has an active effort to improve gender balance at the Internet Governancei Forum.[2]

Past Work

She previously worked as External Relations manager at APNIC, the Regional Internet Registry (RIR) for Asia Pacific, and before that as Internet Address Policy manager at the RIPE NCC, the RIR for Europe, Central Asia and the Middle East. In her work for these organisations she worked together with the regional technical communities to develop policies related to the management of Internet resources, such as IPv4 and IPv6 addresses and AS numbers.

She was heavily involved with education, delivering workshops, training courses and seminars all across Europe and the Asia Pacific. Nurani was also responsible for the Outreach and External Relations programme at APNIC, working closely together with various Internet-related organizations across the region.
