Owen Smigelski is an attorney with Sunrider International. Prior to his position with Sunrider, Owen was a member of several law firms, specializing in trademarks and litigation. Owen's first position after law school was with an intellectual property law firm, where he had the opportunity to work extensively in the fields of trademarks, patents, and copyrights.[1][2]
Owen has been been a PC guru since age seven, when Mom brought home an IBM 5150; he has been a server admin since he became Gopher admin during his freshman year at SUNY Geneseo. His passions have continued to be computers and related technology.
Between his first and second year of law school, Owen had an internship with a French law firm in Paris. It was there he assisted an attorney in drafting a French legal text on the law and intellectual property, specifically trademark protection in domain names, and discovered that IP law was his calling.[3]
Education
Owen received his law degree from the University of San Diego.[4] Owen speaks French fluently, and conversational Spanish and German.
