Paola Perez (Merida, Venezuela) In 2017, was selected by vote of the community of Internet numbers in Latin America and the Caribbean (LACNIC) as the first female Chair of the Public Policy Forum. That same year was selected as Vice President of Internet Society Chapter Venezuela and thanks to her 3 years experience in the telecommunications area, she is an expert moderator of the Internet Society E-Learning platform courses for more than 70 people from governments, academia, civil society and the private sector in Latin America. In addition, she is part of the experts of the CE-Digital project to train telecommunication regulatory agencies in the region.
She has her own venture since 2013 when she founded the "Lids and Bottles for Lives Foundation", made up of a team of more than 30 volunteers, through which of the recycling of plastic lids and bottles to benefit children with cancer in Venezuela: Contributing to 2 of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the UN Agenda 2030: Obj.3: Health and Well-being and Obj.13: Action for the Climate.

She has been created / implemented projects that contribute to the reduction of inequalities in rural areas of Venezuela through Community Networks and Education of Quality in public schools through Internet access and support for teaching with a multiplatform application in augmented virtual reality for children with special educational needs. She has worked in companies as a Chief Technology Officer (CTO in a private ISP, Testing leader and Project Manager in software development and mobile applications in companies such as: Nanotech Networks Colombia, Infoplanet Team and Group MWT. In 2016 I was Google Policy Fellow in Peru where I contributed to position D&D International as the leading organization in digital issues in Peru.

She is Systems Engineer, with the option of Computer Science and has studies different courses and workshops related to telecommunications (Internet)
