Patricio Poblete is currently the Director of NIC Chile, the domain name registry for .cl, a division of the University of Chile. He is currently serving on ICANN's Board of Directors and was a councilor on ICANN's ccNSO. He is a professor in the Department of Computer Science, University of Chile.[1]

In 1999, he was elected as one of three members from the ccTLD community to the DNSO Council.[4] He was a member of the ccNSO Council, representing the Latin American and Caribbean region;[5] until March 2012.[6] For several years, he was vice-Chair of the ccNSO.[7] In 2017 he won the ICANN Multistakeholder Ethos Award.
He is a founding member of LACTLD.
Mr. Poblete has been a member of INET since January 1995.
