Paul M. Kane is CEO and Chairman of the Kane Group. In 2010, Paul Kane was selected by ICANN as one of 7 TCRs, who are responsible for safe-guarding a share of the ROOT Zone's DNSSEC Recovery Key.[1][2]

He has been involved in the software development/Internet industry since 1984. Paul’s group of companies currently employ 114 employees in offices based in the UK, Japan, the US, and satellite offices in Oman and Dubai.

One of his companies, ICB, located in the UK and Tokyo, provides Registry services to 14 TLDs both directly and other TLDs as a back-end technical contractor. In addition, ICB owns and operates its own DNS infrastructure on 4 continents around the world, receiving around 12 billion queries per day providing 24x7x365 support.

ICANN Involvement

He was appointed as an interim Names Council Representative to the Registries Constituency in November, 1999, then elected to the DNSO - Names Council as a Representative of the Registrar Constituency in March, 2000.

Paul has also been the chair of Intake Committee, the chair of the Whois Committee and a member of the International Domain Names Task Force.
