The "Scaling the root" study findings explain the possible root zone growing pains due to:[1]

  1. ICANN policy decisions concerning extensive DNSSEC deployment,
  2. IDNs, IPv6, and
  3. the sudden addition of many new TLDs with the New gTLD Program.

At ICANN 35, this study's findings were shared with the community to help ICANN prepare to grow Authors: Jaap Akkerhuis, Lyman Chapin, Patrik Fältström, Glenn Kowack, Lars-Johan Liman, Bill Manning
