SnapNames was formed in 2000 by founders Raymond King and Ron Weiner to provide the first commercial domain name "backordering" service. Located in Portland, Oregon, SnapNames provides a way for people to purchase expiring and secondary market domains at auction.

In 2007, the company was purchased by Oversee.net

Accomplishments

January 24, 2008 SnapNames reaches $3 million dollars in sales. [1]

On July 16, 2009 SnapNames.com, in partnership with Moniker.com, began a monthly showcase auction to target corporate buyers. [2]
