Stephane Van Gelder is formerly the General manager of INDOM, France's leading corporate domain name registrar, and currently the lead of Stephane Van Gelder Consulting Limited, a consultancy for domain portfolio owners, registrars and registries.[1] He also currently holds a role as a Lobbyist and Copy Editor with DomainDiction.[2]

Stephane is fully bilingual and bicultural, having spent many years living in England and France. He has always been interested in computing and studied Computer Science at Sussex University. He has a Comp. Sc. Degree at B.Sc. level.

Stephane Van Gelder moved back to France after getting his degree and started a career in sports journalism. Motorsports is also a great passion of his and he was a newspaper and television journalist covering motorcycle and car racing at the highest international level for ten years.

The entity that was to become INDOM was created in 1997 under the name ANDCONET. He joined the project in 1999 to start INDOM. He is one of the three co-founders of the firm.[3]

ICANN Involvement

Mr. Van Gelder is the Vice Chair of the GNSO Council. In addition to his responsibilities as Chair, Stephane Van Gelder represented the Registrar Stakeholder Group on the GNSO. [4]
