Terminated TLDs
Under the New gTLD Registry Agreement, either party may terminate pursuant to certain requirements in the Registry Agreement, including but not limited to the following:
- Section 4.3 and its subsections – Termination by ICANN
- Section 4.4 and its subsections – Termination by Registry Operator
The Current list of TLDs undergoing Termination of a TLD and TLDs, which were Terminated.[1].
IANA records for Retired domains (the state after the termination of the contract in case where no heirs were appointed) show ICANN as Administrative and Technical contacts, Retired as the name of organisation and ICANN's address as Sponsoring Organisation and revocation report from IANA.[2]
