Thomas Barrett is the President of EnCirca and TM.Biz.[1] He founded EnCirca, which is an ICANN Accredited Registrar, in 2001.[2]

Career History

Tom Barrett has over 15 years of experience in trademark research and protection. Prior to joining EnCirca, he was the Vice President of Thomson & Thomson.[3] He also helped in launching the IP Claims Rights Protection Services for the .biz gTLD. He was one of the founding members of Afilias.[4] At Thomson and Thomson, he led the development of the SAEGIS trademark research platform.[5]

He also served as the CEO of NetNames. After selling NetNames to NetBenefit, he helped NeuStar in launching .biz.[6]

Education

After completing education from Reading Memorial High School. He joined Worcester Polytechnic Institute for a BS degree and then joined Massachusetts Institute of Technology for an MS degree, both in Mechanical Engineering.[9]
