The University of the West Indies is the registry operator for Jamaica's .jm ccTLD.[1] Technical operations are conducted by the university's Mona Information Technology Services (MITS).[2]
Registry operations are very informal. There is a simple, plain text email template to register a .jm name. The only representation an applicant makes is that they are not infringing upon third party intellectual property rights.[3] The domain is open to applications from international registrants; however, it appears that registrations are limited to specific second level domains, and that some SLDs are restricted. For example, .edu.jm is reserved for educational institutions in Jamaica.[4]
