Farzaneh Badii got to know about ICANN and its work when she was carrying out research on Online Dispute Resolution. She became more familiar will ICANN when she became a part of the Internet Governance Forum Secretariat. She started attending ICANN meetings through ICANN fellowship program and is a part of ICANN fellowship alumni.

Farzaneh has a life outside of ICANN too. She is an Internet & Jurisdiction Fellow and specialized in procedural justice and online dispute resolution. She is currently finishing a PhD at the University of Hamburg’s Institute of Law and Economics that examines the institutional design of dispute management in online intermediaries with a scholarship of the German Research Foundation. She is also a fellow at the Humboldt Institute for Internet and Society. Farzaneh was a visiting scholar at Syracuse University’s iSchool and conducted research at the University of St. Gallen’s Law School. Between 2011 and 2013, she was a Consultant at the United Nations’ Secretariat of the Internet Governance Forum in Geneva.
