Hadia El miniawi is the director of the Domain name System-Entrepreneurship Center (DNS-EC). DNS-EC is a partnership between the National Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (NTRA) of Egypt and the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) established to foster the domain name ecosystem in Africa and the Middle East. With more than ten years of experience at the .eg registry, Hadia has a keen eye on the challenges facing the domain name industry in the region and a good understanding of the main issues that need to be tackled to encourage the industry. Prior to her current role Hadia was deputy to the director of foreign trade for Africa and the Middle East at the Hungarian National Trading House (MNKH) in Budapest, helping Hungarian SMEs reach foreign and emerging markets in Africa and the Middle East. During her mandate at the trading house, several Hungarian trading houses where opened across the region. Hadia has a good understanding of how to help SMEs understand their business and industry as well as an understanding of how to set plans for the foreign offices to achieve their goals. As a current board member and head of the charity committee of the Egyptian Diplomats' association and a previous board member of the American International School of Budapest, chairperson for the IT subcommittee, a member of the strategic planning committee for three years and a member of the governance committee for one year. Hadia has extensive experience with strategic planning, action planning and implementation of action steps within set time frames and constrained budgets. Hadia holds a MSc. in Management and Leadership from Szent Istvan University in Hungary, a Diploma in Engineering Management from the Faculty of Engineering, Cairo University and a BSc. in electronics and communication from Faculty of Engineering, Cairo University.
