Ida Ng'ang'a is the former Chairman, Membership & Outreach for Kenya for the Internet Society (the organization that sets the standards on how the internet operates). She was elected in September 2016, the first woman to hold this position.
She is the Chief Executive Officer for The Regional Consortium (of Experts) for Development - RCD Africa and the Regional Head, Anglophone Countries at UNESCO Chair for Emerging Technologies which is based in Bordeaux, France. She is leading research on the impact of emerging technologies for development (artificial intelligence, IoT, blockchain, and big data).
Ida is passionate about technology and innovation and has vowed to make internet opportunities, digital learning, computer programming, and mobile application development skills accessible to as many youths and women as possible.
