Ute Decker is a lawyer based in London[1] and she currently works as the Director of Standards and Interoperability (EMEA) at Microsoft.[2]

Education

She is currently doing EMBA from Cass Business School and he course is expected to complete in 2012. Decker holds a diploma in European Law from the King's College London, U. of London and QLIT from BPP Law School.[3] She graduated from Mainz University in Germany

Career History

Decker started her career as a Research and Lecturer and the Institute for Information, Telecommunication and Media Law (ITM) in Muenster. Ute has spoken at national and international conferences and workshops around the world and has published widely, mainly on copyright and international trade.[4] Before Decker joined Microsoft, she was the Deputy Director for Global Legal Policy for the International Trade Association representing the recording industry worldwide (IFPI). She specialise in IP law and has practiced in Germany and England. In 2005, she was selected as a member of the IPC.[5] She has also been the member of NomCom.[6]
