In June 2000 an organization named XNSORG was formed by Cordance to manage Extensible Name Services which were a predecessor to i-names. It worked to create a level of trust between people and new data sharing networks provided by the internet. Working actively, XNS published XNS 1.0 specifications in June 2002 which contributed in the formation of XRI with the help of OASIS.
