.sj is the ccTLD for Svalbard (or Spitsbergen) and Jan Mayen, both part of the Kingdom of Norway and partly subject to Norwegian law.[1] It is managed by Norid A/S.[2]

As with the .bv ccTLD, .sj has never opened for registration, although it was delegated in 1997. It is suggested in the official website that entities should use .no.

According to Norid’s official website, originally published in 2014 and updated in 2019, any potential changes to the status of .sj would be preceded by a thorough evaluation and analysis of the consequences. Norid also states that the .sj domain will neither be sold nor given away. As of April 2025, this position remains unchanged.[1]
