Matthew Shears is a current board member for [[ICANN]]. He has been involved in [[Internet Governance]] and international internet policy issues since participating in the [[WSIS|World Summit on the Information Society]] in 2005. 

==Involvement with ICANN==
Shears was substantially involved in the [[IANA]] Stewardship Transition in 2016. He was selected by the [[GNSO]] to serve on the [[ICANN Board]] in 2017 and the [[Annual Meeting|Annual Meeting]] in 2020.
