'''John Walubengo''' has over 15 years experience in the IT Training and Consulting; his area of specialization is the design  and deployment of secure, Internet based solutions for [[LAN|Local Area  Networks]] and [[WAN|Wide Area Networks]]. He is  currently the Ag. ==Current Work==
Mr. Walubengo was the founding director of the Multimedia Univeristy's City Center branch, which specializes in [[ICT]] courses. From 2000 to 2005 he tirelessly put together a campus from nothing; as there were no students, facilities, or lecturers when he took the job. John launched the first e-learning center in Kenya on the campus in 2000. He was eventually sent to the main campus, but by that point he had established the City Center branch with 60 lecturers teaching some 500 students. 

During this time he also undertook consultancy jobs for the government, such as an analysis of the existing Kenya National Assembly information system with a view to modernizing it. Mr. Walubengo's past experience includes working at Strathmore University's Nairobi as  the founding IT Course Director and then as a  Lecturer and Head of  IT  Training, at the Multimedia University College of Kenya (MMU). He is also involved in international and regional groups, like the [[DiploFoundation]], The Kenya Information and Communication Technology Action Network, and Kenya's chapter of the Information Systems Audit and Control Association. With Diplo, he submitted a paper the for [[IGF]] Athens meeting, wherein he explored ways in which developing nations could have affordable Internet access and alternative models for Internet interconnectivity. From June - August, 2007, John had an internship with the Secretariat of the [[IGF]].

John holds an MSc in Strategic Business IT from the University of  Portsmouth, UK; and a BSc in Mathematics & Computing from Kenyatta University, Kenya.
