Philip has long been working in leading patent and trademark positions, such as those with Crossguard, GKN, BT, and Rover Group. He led the Trademark divisions of the latter two. With Rover Group, Mr. Cooper worked to protect prominent automobile brands like Land Rover, Mini, and MG. His work there included registering the classic shape of the Mini automobile as a trademark, creating the name Freelander, and leading a major brand extension program for Land Rover.
