The Award was first given in 2014, at [[ICANN 50]], in London. Recipients have served in roles in multiple ICANN working groups or committees and collaborated with more than one [[Supporting Organizations]] and/or [[Advisory Committee]]s. The recipients have participated in ICANN for at least five years. A panel of community members representing each SO/AC selects recipients annually.
Nominees must have
# Demonstrated ability to work across community lines with ICANN Stakeholders toward consensus building;
# Facilitated dialogue in a fair, collegial manner, shown empathy and a sincere desire to engage with people from other backgrounds, cultures, and interests; and
