.es domains are the suffix of choice for domains registered in Spain. As of 2013, .es held almost half the market share at 48.83%, with [[.com]] trailing at 36.31% and [[.net]] at 4.81%.<ref name="es"></ref>

Most .es registrations are held in the Spanish regions of Madrid, Catalonia, Andalusia, and Valencia, in descending order of registration percentages. Madrid leads by Catalonia by over 10%, with 25.79% of all .es registrations.<ref name="es"></ref>
