.vu is the ccTLD for Vanuatu. It is managed by the Telecommunications Radiocommunications and Broadcasting Regulator (TRBR).[1] GoDaddy is the selected registry for .vu..[2]

Delegation History[edit | edit source]

The .vu top-level domain was initially delegated to Telecom Vanuatu Limited (TVL) in the mid 1990's. In 2009, it was established the Telecommunications and Radiocommunications Regulator (TRR), which was renamed Telecommunications and Radiocommunications and Broadcasting Regulator (TRBR) in 2018.

On 13 December 2016, the Government passed regulations pertaining to the .vu domain name under "The Vanuatu Domain Name Management and Administration Regulation Order No 206 of 2016". Part 3 of this order outlines the functions of the regulator, which includes requesting a transfer of the .vu ccTLD.

On 21 December 2018, TRBR commenced a request for the transfer of the .vu TLD, which was granted.[3]
