Bernard Aboba is the Principal Architect, Lync Division at Microsoft.
Education
Aboba holds a BA from Harvard College, MS and Ph.D. degrees from Stanford University, and an MBA from UC Berkeley.
Career History
Previously he was the Principal Architect, Windows Networking at Microsoft. He has also worked as a Group Program Manager at Microsoft, a Contract Programmer at Borland International and Senior Engineer at Failure Analysis. At RAND Corporation, he worked as an Engineer. Aboba is a member of the Internet Architecture Board (IAB), IETF liaison to IEEE 802, and co-chair of the IETF AAA and EAP Working Groups.In 2000 he chaired the IETF Nomcom. Member, Internet Architecture Board, 2003 - 2007, 2010 - present. Founded the MSN Internet Access business in 1994.
