Éric Vyncke is an Area Director for the Internet Area of the IETF.[1] His previous involvement with IETF was around IPv6, and information modeling.[1]

Vyncke joined Cisco in 1997. He is currently a Distinguished Engineer in the Emerging Technology & Innovation group, where he focuses on standards, IPv6, telemetry, and security. [1] He has written two network security books about layer-2 and IPv6.[2]

Vyncke is an associate professor at University of Liège, Belgium, where he graduated with a M.S. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering in 1983.[1]
