Soogrim graduated from the University of Maryland. He is a former subject head of economics at University of the West Indies School of Business.<ref name="linkedin" /> He is also involved with the South School of Internet Governance, the Caribbean Telecommunications Union, and [[WIPO]]. Soogrim is a graduate of the Babson executive certificate in the Modules for Entrepreneurship Educators Program and the Aalto University World bank /CSBKE program/infoDev.
