The organization was successfully created and launched within a 6-9 month period, within which time it attained “trusted advisor” status with many organizations such as APEC, OECD, ITU, APNIC, etc. In fact, within a month of launching, it gained attention and was covered by the Asian Wall Street Journal and CNBC. APIA continues to be a key player in Asia Pacific and today is the key organiser of APRICOT (Asia Pacific Rim Internet Conference on Operational Technologies).
