In March 2008, he was appointed by the [[IESG]] to serve as a member of the [[IAOC|IETF Administrative Oversight Committee]]. Mr. Jacobsen worked with Interop Company, now known as CMP United Business Media, from 1987 until 1998. He was the Editor and Publisher of ConneXions - The Interoperability Report, published by the Interop Company.
