GZ Kabir is currently nominated as the Chair of SANOG (South Asian Network Operators Group).

Another current key role he has to deliver is to Chair the APNIC42 Programme Committee. He is also serving as a member of the Fellowship Committee of APRICOT since 2013. He got his ISOC membership in 2009.

In the country, he is now a member of the National Network Design Committee headed by a2i (Access to Information project of Prime Minister's Office). He is elected as the Director of ISP Association of Bangladesh (ISPAB), also an active member of the Advisory Committee of BDCERT, and a member of ISOC Dhaka, Bangladesh chapter. He is also the Trustee and member of EC of BDNOG. On a regular basis, he takes part in the talks with Government Regulatory Bodies to make Digital Bangladesh by the year 2021.
