João Damas is currently Senior Researcher at APNIC. He is a member of ICANN's RSSAC, an RSTEP panelist and a root zone signing TCR. He participates in ISOC, RIPE, and ESNOG.[1] He is co-chair of the DNS wg at RIPE.[2]

João has contributed to RFC 4012 and RFC 5358. He can speak English, Portuguese, Spanish and Dutch.

Damas attends IETF,[3] ISOC,[4] and ICANN Meetings,[5][6] as well as other industry-related events.[7] He actively participates in ISC events.[8][9]

He holds an MSc in Quantum Chemistry from Universidad Autonoma de Madrid and a BSc in Physical/Quantum Chemistry from the same University.[11]
