The '''Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications (DoITT)''' is one of the agencies of the New York City Government responsible for providing Information Technology (IT) infrastructure and telecommunications services to businesses, employees, residents and visitors of the city. The New York City government, through the DoITT, applied for the [[.nyc]] [[GeoTLD| geographical TLD]] in [[ICANN]]'s [[New gTLD Program|new gTLD expansion program]]. [[Neustar]] was selected by the DoITT to become its partner in operating the [[.nyc]] TLD. Neustar agreed to help develop the application and pay the $185,000 application fee, post application fees and the $25,000 annual fee once the TLD is approved by ICANN.
