Warren Adelman is the former Chief Executive Officer of GoDaddy.[1] He serves on the Industry Advisory Board at Arizona State University's College of Technology and Innovation.
Warren left his day-to-day responsibilities as CEO at GoDaddy to become the company's special advisor. In this role, he will continue to help Go Daddy with corporate strategic initiatives and global policy, including issues related to Internet governance, day-to-day operations, resource management, process improvement and corporate strategic planning.
Warren Adelman holds a B.A. in Political Science and History from the University of Toronto. In 2010, he was the keynote speaker of the Internet Summit.[2]
Career History
Warren joined GoDaddy after numerous senior positions in the technology market, including Vice President of Strategic Relations at Network Associates, which is now McAfee.
In February 2001, Warren Adelman was appointed president and chief executive officer of NeoPlanet, Inc. A co-founder of the company, Adelman served as executive vice president of business development from 1999 to 2001, playing a pivotal role in NeoPlanet's initial funding and a spin-off from its parent company Bigfoot International, Inc. Furthermore, Adelman was central in establishing NeoPlanet's partnerships with Terra Lycos, USA Networks, MTV, Universal Studios, Interscope/Geffen/A&M Records, New Line Cinema and Network Associates, Inc. [3]
From 1997 to 1999, Adelman was vice president of business development for Bigfoot International, where he initiated some of the industry's first trackable e-mail marketing campaigns for companies such as Microsoft, Eddie Bauer, Oppenheimer Funds and Network Associates. Adelman also established partnerships with BellSouth, Hotmail, Snap, InfoSeek, ICQ, ZDNet, and Look Smart. He served as an executive liaison to Acxiom Corporation, Bigfoot's strategic investor and database marketing partner.
Before Bigfoot, Adelman was vice president of business development and communications at IFusion, a pioneer in Internet content management and delivery.
Prior to entering the private sector, Warren served as an officer in the Israeli Defense Forces. He also spent six years in international relations at the Israeli Embassy in Washington, D.C., where he served as Chief of Public Affairs. During this time, Warren was a member of the media and communications team for Israel's Delegation to Bilateral Peace Talks held in Washington, D.C. between 1991 and 1996.
