Before that, he was the Founder and CEO of Farsight Security from July 2013 to November 2021. He is the author of several RFCs and well-known UNIX system programs, including SENDS, proxynet, rtty, and Vixie cron. He was elected to [[ARIN]]'s board of trustees in 2004 and reelected in 2007 and 2010. Paul was elected chairman in 2009 and 2010. He was foundational to the formation of [[ICANN]]'s [[RSSAC]] and [[SSAC]].  

The '''[[Technical Liaison Group]]''' (TLG) is a group within [[ICANN]] whose purpose is to provide the [[ICANN Board]] with appropriate sources of technical advice on specific matters related to ICANN's activities. The TLG acts in both responsive and watchdog capacities. It provides information at the request of the ICANN Board and other ICANN bodies and yields ongoing information about the progress of relevant technical developments that may affect the Board's decision-making process.
