Capitol Catala de la Internet Society is the Catalonian chapter of the Internet Society. In September 2017, telecom operators were contacted by the Spanish government to block and throttle traffic to political websites that were in favor of Catalonian independence. .CAT's offices were raided and members of the registry, including one member of ISOC Catalonia were arrested. The Internet Society, along with the ISOC Catalonia chapter, released statements condemning these actions.[1][2]
