The Names Council (NC) was a former ICANN body established in the ICANNs Bylaws from March 31, 1999[1]. It was responsible for the management of the consensus building process of the DNSO, adopting procedures and policies to carry out that responsibility, including the designation of research or drafting committees, working groups and other bodies of the General Assembly as it determines are appropriate to carry out the substantive work of the DNSO.
