David Conrad is an Internet Expert and Entrepreneur. From June 2014 to September 2021, he was the chief technology officer for ICANN.[1]

Career History

Mr. Conrad has been working in the Internet industry since 1983. From 1991 to 1998, he lived in Japan and was the Seventh Employee at the Internet Initiative Japan. IIJ was one of Japan's first commercial ISPs. He founded the Asia Pacific Network Information Center and served as a Director General from 1993 to 1998.[2]

When he returned to the US in 1998, he joined ISC as its Executive Director. He worked there until 2001 and then founded Nominum. He held the post of CTO at Nominum for four years. David also served as a board member of the North American regional IP address registry, ARIN, from 2000 to 2005 and as ARIN treasurer from 2004 to 2005.[3]

He has been the Vice President of IT and Research at ICANN and General Manager of IANA.[4]
