.pg is the ccTLD for Papua New Guinea. It is managed by the PNG DNS Administration, Vice Chancellors Office, The Papua New Guinea University of Technology.[1]

Rules and Restrictions[edit | edit source]

Companies and individuals can register a .pg domain name.[2] All applicants must demonstrate a local presence or interests in Papua New Guinea. Registration will not be granted if the operation is solely conducted from overseas without any local interests.

An applicant to a .pg domain name must warrant that:

  • the applicant has a bona fide intention to use the Domain Name on a regular basis on the Internet;
  • the use or registration of the Domain Name does not interfere with or infringe the right of any third party in any jurisdiction with respect to trademark, tradename, company name or any other intellectual property right;
  • the applicant is not seeking to use the Domain Name for any unlawful purpose, including, without limitation, any interference with contract or prospective business advantage, unfair competition, injuring the reputation of another, or for the purpose of confusing or misleading a person, whether natural or incorporated.[3]

Registrations are only done under the second-level.[2]
