Cordance had created the actual digital addressing technology system which later went to become the base for the XDI (XRI Data Interchange) and XRI (Extensible Resource Identifier), the two open standards now installed at OASIS. The patents were contributed in order to create the XDI.org. In the year 2004, the company entered into a partnership with the essential clearinghouse service providing IT and global communications company – NeuStar. This was done with the sole purpose of developing and operating the global registry of XRI and resolution services as per the contract signed with XDI.org.
