In Early 2007, Brian Longwe was added to the Kenyan ICT Hall of Fame in the professional category  by the Kenyan government and ICT community for his personal contribution to the growth and development of Keynya's ICT sector over the past 16 years of his career.<ref>[http://steve.ntwiga.net/?p=246 steve.ntwiga.net]</ref> He was given the award of Top ICT Businessman in Africa 2007, by the African ICT Achievers Awards because of his work in the development of ISPs in the various countries of Africa over the past 6-7 years; including the IDRC funded project (#101617) Immediate and Medium Term Impact of Internet Exchange Points in Africa, for which he served as the project leader.<ref>[http://www.idrc.ca/en/ev-118531-201-1-DO_TOPIC.html IRDC]</ref>
