Romanian Research Center, or RNC, is the organization which manages the .ro ccTLD for Romania. It is run by the ICI, which was set up in 1970 as a centre of advanced research for computer science. It is coordinated by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.[1]
ICI, as the national operator of the Romanian Research Network (RNC), established the first Internet connection in Romania and as a consequence it registered the .ro top level domain name at IANA in February 1993.[1]
