Giovanni Seppia has been the International Relations Manager of EURid, the registry operator of the .eu ccTLD name since 2007. His main responsibility is to represent the EURid and maintain its relationship with international Internet organizations particularly with ICANN and the Council of European National Top Level Domain Registries (CENTR). [1]

Since May 2017, Giovanni has been a member of the eco Association Names & Numbers Steering Committee.[2]

Career History[edit | edit source]

Giovanni served as former General Manager of CENTR before joining EURid. During his term, he supervised the operations of the organization, consolidated its policy positions on different issues, and served as CENTR's representative with ICANN, WSIS, WGIG, the European Union, and other international organizations and conferences. He also worked as the Head of External Relations of Italian Registry for the Institute of Informatics and Telematics (IIT) CNR, in Italy. He supervised the registration services and maintenance of domain names under the .it country code top level domain name.[3]

ICANN Involvement[edit | edit source]

Giovanni is on the ccNSO Council. He was appointed by the ICANN Board for the ICANN Global Partnership as a Regional Liaison for Europe from January 2006 to May 2007.[4] He was also a member of the ccNSO Participation Working Group, [5] ccNSO Strategic and Operational Planning Working Group,[6] and the ccNSO IDN PDP Working Group 2.[7]
