.mw is the ccTLD for Malawi. It is managed by the Malawi Sustainable Development Network Programme (Malawi SDNP).[1]
Rules and Restrictions[edit | edit source]
.mw is an Open Use ccTLD. Any natural person, company or organization can register a domain name under .mw.[2]
Second-level Domains[edit | edit source]
- .ac.mw: for academic institutions;
- .co.mw and .com.mw: for commercial organizations;
- .coop.mw: for cooperative associations;
- .edu.mw: for higher academic institutions;
- .gov.mw: for the Malawi Government;
- .int.mw: for international treaty organizations;
- .net.mw: for networking organizations;
- .org.mw: for non-profit making organizations.[2]
Characters[edit | edit source]
The following are required for any name to be registered as a domain name:
- the name must not start with a hyphen ("-");
- the name must contain only characters from "A to Z", "a to z", digits "0 to 9", the hyphen ("-") and the dot (".").[2]
