Russell is an IT consultant. He works with open source technology, especially Linux.[1]

Specialities

Russell is a specialist in CIFS (Samba), Custom Programming, Custom Systems, E-Commerce, Firewalls and Internet Security, Internet Server Development, Internet Programming, Netware Connectivity, Network Administration, System Administration, System Security, and Virtual Private Networking.[2]

Current Positions

Russell owns Trance Host, has been a Techie in Chief at Compurius since 2008, and the President at the Bangladesh Linux Users Alliance since 2002. He has also been an Ubuntu member since June 2008.[3]

Russell John has participated in and organised a variety of programs. He conducted a workshop on Linux for Home Users at East West University on April 8, 2007. He was the speaker at the BCS Computer Show 2006. His other participations include:
