Japan Registry (Solis) is an ICANN accredited Japanese registrar for .jp and .co.jp domain names. It was awarded full registrar accredidation by ICANN back in 2004 and because of that it is fully certified to sell gTLDs.[1]

Solis distributes domain names to Internet service providers, hosting companies, and corporations in Japan, as well as .jp and .co.jp domains other ICANN accredited registrars around the world who resell them to their customers.[2]

Services

Solis provides variety of products including SSL certificates, Search Engine Optimization Software, URL forwarding and DNS services in addition to a variety of domain extensions.[3] Solis supports a variety of gTLDs.[4]

GMO

Solis was acquired by GMO Internet, Inc in July, 2005. GMO is Japan's leading online infrastructure providing company. It provides web hosting to online security to credit card payment processes and much more to its customers.[5]

Partnerships

Solis has partnershiped with Tucows and NIFTY corporations. Tucows is the largest wholesale ICANN accredited registrar in the world. NIFTY corporation is on the top of the list of Internet Service Providers in Japan.[6][7]
