Colin Campbell is an Internet pioneer, serial entrepreneur, and the founder and current CEO of .CLUB Domains LLC, one of the world’s fastest-growing and most successful New gTLD registries.

Campbell’s ongoing vision for .CLUB is to create a space for clubs and associations that may be underserved by current TLD offerings. The market ranges from popular soccer clubs to after-school clubs in small communities, and could serve as a way to showcase the often prideful affiliation between an individual or company and their club. Campbell has been working on the idea for a number of years, and officially formed the .CLUB Domains entity in September of 2011. Since general availability began in May of 2014, .CLUB has sold over 192,000 domains, including recently sold wine.club and coffee.club, each of which sold for six figures.[1][2][3]

Though .CLUB is Campbell’s main venture, he is also widely known for his business involvement in the Internet and domain name sectors for co-founding tech companies Tucows and Hostopia. Campbell and his business partners have also co-founded several other companies such as GeeksForLess.com, Brisk Mobile, SharkFin Networks, EntrepreneurWiki.com and the Digital Archery Experts with Dirk Bhagat and Peter LaMantia.[4] He has also held directorial roles with the Canadian Internet Registry Association (CIRA), and the Canadian Association of Internet Providers (CAIP).[5]

Background[edit | edit source]

Colin Campbell received a B.A. degree in Commerce from the University of Toronto at Scarborough in 1992.

Colin Campbell is the Founding Director of CIRA (1998), and a former Director of CAIP.[6] He also founded Tucows in 1998, and founded Hostopia in 2000. He acted as Hostopia's CEO until 2011, guiding it through its sale to Deluxe in 2008. The sale was a $124 million dollar deal.[7][8]

Mr. Campbell is a member of EO, the Entrepreneurs Organization.[9]

His companies earned several awards and recognition including the 1997 Profit magazine's 7th fastest growing company in Canada, 2nd fastest growing company in Canada in 1998, #1 fastest growing company and Inc magazine's top 500 fastest growing companies, both received in 2005. [10]

Colin is writing a book titled: Start, Scale, Exit, Repeat! and was a featured speaker at EO/MIT Entrepreneurial Masters Program discussing his theories on entrepreneurship.
