The first edition of the India SIG was convened in Oct-Nov 2016 at IIIT Hyderabad, immediately prior to the ICANN57 meeting held at the same city. The event had 44 participants from 9 countries and 22 speakers from 12 countries.
The second edition, [[inSIG 2017]] organized during 24-26 October 2017 at the Travancore Hall, Technopark, Trivandrum. It brought together about 73 participants (including 56 Indian and 6 International Fellows), and about 15 experts from India, and abroad including the Secretariat. A special run-up event aimed at equipping students and researchers to participate in the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) process was also conducted on 23 Oct 2017 as a run-up adjunct event to inSIG2017.
Interestingly, the seventh edition of inSIG (inSIG2022), returned to the same institution (IIIT Hyderabad), that was the venue of the first edition.
