W.G. Champion Mitchell is currently working in the board of directors at 41st parameter[1]. He was the Chairman and CEO of Network Solutions. Champ joined Network Solutions in 2001, and spearheaded the company's buyout and separation from VeriSign in November 2003.
Past Work
Before becoming Chairman and CEO of Network Solutions he held senior positions at VeriSign, and from 1997-2000 he founded, managed and later sold two successful start-up companies specializing in VoIP. Earlier in his career, Champ was executive vice president and COO of R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co., where he played an integral role in the largest leveraged buyout in history - the company's buyout by KKR. Prior to this, Champ served as a lawyer and partner with Womble, Carlyle, Sandridge and Rice in Winston-Salem, N.C.[2][3]
Education
Champ received his juris doctor with highest honors from the University of North Carolina and his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina.
