Lousewies van der Laan is an advisor, advocate, publicist and public speaker working in progressive politics, human rights, and international justice. She is a former Member of the European Parliament and the Dutch Parliament, and has been the Vice President of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrat for Europe, also known as ALDE, since 2009.[1]
She has been a Member of the ICANN Board since October 2015, and is an occasional Faculty Member at the Salzburg Global Seminar.[2][1]
ICANN 54 in Dublin was her first ICANN Meeting.[2]
Her name is prounounced "Loo-za-veez".[2]
