Richard Lau is the Owner of DomainManager.com and co-founder of the annual domain-focused event, NamesCon. [1]
Career History
He was the Founding Supporter at BaitCar.com, Domain Consultant at In the Domain Industry, President at TeleLink Paging Corp, and General Manager at NameZero.com, MyDomain.com, and NamesDirect.com.[2]
Richard has generated millions of dollars in revenue for his employers and clients in the domain industry. As part of his consulting services in domain forensic background checks for domain purchasers Richard was asked to investigate alleged hijackings of various domains. Now, having overseen the rescue of many high-value stolen domains such as RL.com, God.com, Religion.com, Wifi.com, Iraq.com and others, Richard is an expert in the area of domain hijacking recovery.
Richard Lau is an acknowledged contributor to the DOMAIN NAME HIJACKING: Incidents, Threats, Risks, and Remedial Actions Report by the ICANN Security and Stability Advisory Committee (SSAC) produced in 2005. He is also a repeat speaker to the Domain Roundtable Conference & TRAFFIC Conference.
Awards
In 2004, Richard was awarded the very first "Domainer of the Year Award."[3]
Education
Richard Lau completed his B.Comm., in Marketing and Computer Science in 1992 from the University of British Columbia.
